Shelving is a convenient way to gain valuable space in any home. Shelves are used for practical purposes such as providing easy access to frequently-used kitchen and bathroom items. They also serve more decorative purposes such as showing off books, photos and ornaments. Shelves are supported by brackets and at Solmer we stock a variety of these in different shapes and styles. When choosing a shelf bracket, think about what you intend to place on the shelf, and choose one with an appropriate load capacity. Check your wall type - e.g. woodwork, masonry - as different brackets and fixings are suitable for installing into some but not others. Brackets can be manufactured using different materials such as galvanised steel or zinc alloy, and the finish can vary quite considerably, from chrome and satin to matt black or white, so be sure to think about your surroundings before making a decision.
